Over the last 60 years, the growth of the Emirate of Dubai has been outlined by a series of ambitious plans called the Dubai Urban Master Plan, which has shaped the dynamic cityscape.

On March 13, 2021, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched one of the most ambitious Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aims to transform Dubai into the world’s best city to live and work in.

The plan is highlighted by the allocation of 168 square kilometers for industrial and economic activities to support Dubai’s position as a global hub for commerce and logistics and the doubling of areas for the tourism sector by 134%.

Development and investment will be focused on 5 main urban centers – three existing ones and two new ones – which will support the growth of economic sectors and provide a wide range of lifestyle facilities.
